The Media: Afraid of Islam?
The media has been especially careful not to mention the Islamic influence in the case of the father who murdered his daughter because she wanted a divorce from her husband. The Quran and its Hadith interpretations both consider the concept of "honor" killings in dealing with those in Islam who disgrace the family or, in the worst case, Islam in general and Allah in particular. I cannot understand the media’s silence concerning these teachings, many of which are in direct violation of our own Judeo-Christian beliefs. It is though the media would rather misdirect our attention to some whimsical foggy abstraction rather than focus upon the real and actual source of these actions of "honor killings." The UN states there are an average of 5,000 honor killings around the world and considers it an epidemic, but the media insists upon not tying them into the Islamic culture when these murders are indeed a core belief in that culture.
Irshad Manji of New York University, a guest of FOX’s America’s Newsroom being interviewed today by Bill Hemmer, stated in the case of the Georgia father, Chaudhry Rashid, that, while the father was a Muslim, the "honor" killing was not so much a part of the Muslim belief as it was a part of "culture." She stated in the Eastern society, women are considered the carriers of culture which is seen as being bound up in the existence of women who represent themselves, their family and the entire society. Therefore, when a woman acts in a disgraceful way, they not only dishonor themselves and their family but their culture/society. This woman’s killing, she stated, was not about Islam, a religion, but about honor, a component of culture. The father gave out his punishment in order to satisfy the violation of his culture and his family’s code of honor and in that sense, being a Muslim had no bearing upon his action. This is proof of my case.
It has come to a point the politicians, the media, and indeed our government are so intimidated by Islam so as to seem subservient in their actions toward Islam. They are all afraid to speak out against this disgusting, vile, and satanic culture who’s very existence flies in the face of every God-fearing individual in this world. Those who are too ignorant or too lazy to seek the truth for themselves are just as guilty, through inaction and apathy, of the infliction of terror upon the Judeo-Christians of this world as those who personally commit the crimes. When the Apostle Paul stated the truth shall set you free meant exactly that: acquired knowledge of those who would destroy all Christian believers will indeed set you free from their influence and their intimidation, thus allowing you to see the truth behind their worldly agenda and not to become a part of it unwittingly.
